Women's group

There is a women-only group at St Thomas', called Beracah ("Valley of blessings").

Beracah meets at 10.00am every Wednesday in term time in the church rooms at St Thomas'.  Women of all ages are welcome.  Beracah aims to provide a supportive and safe environment for members to share, care and have fun.

They gather for refreshments and a chat, notices, prayer requests, a time of worship and prayer, then the activity for the day begins at 10.30am.

There is a different activity each week (a programme is published each term), ranging from outside speakers representing charities and missions, homegrown speakers sharing their experiences and knowledge of different skills and games, intercessory prayer, Bible studies and once a term, they take an assembly at The Mead School and at a Parochial School.

The meeting closes at 12.00pm although some linger to socialise or to help with clearing up. Women of all ages are welcome, and there is a crèche for mums with pre-school children. There is a core of regular members although there is no obligation to attend every week.  There are up to 20 people at each meeting.

In addition, there are regular outreach "socials" to welcome potential new members from the St Thomas' Toddler Group or elsewhere.  New members or those just wishing to drop in are welcome at any time.  Come along and experience Beracah for yourself.
