St John's, West Ashton

St John'sWe are a small but committed congregation who feel it is important to have regular Christian worship and witness in this village and seek to welcome all, whether residents of West Ashton or not. As well as the services usually held at 10:30am on the first and third Sundays of the month (check Weekly news for details), we occasionally hold other events such as visits by the Salvation Army Band, flower festivals, Harvest Suppers and a Christingle Service on Advent Sunday. For some years, we have shared a Vicar with St Thomas', Trowbridge, and enjoy ministry from all the team there. We also value our close link with West Ashton Church of England Primary School and are glad to host occasional services and assemblies for the children. A warm welcome awaits you every Sunday at St John's!

St John's stained glassCompared to many village churches, ours is a youngster! It was built in 1846 by the Long family of Rood Ashton Hall, and bears many marks of their involvement, including a private burial vault. It is dedicated to St John the Evangelist and has a number of interesting features including a 'minstrels gallery' and a fine war memorial East window.

Please check the Weekly news or contact the Church Office for details of services.
